MoD & the Youth ¨Cis a music performing group composed of talented young musicians who have been learning both Western and traditional oriental instruments.   The Ensemble is currently under the musical guidance of Mr. Chen Tao, who works as a conductor and composer for the music that are performed by this Youth Ensemble.

 

MoD & the Youth - a non-for-profit organization focusing on creating an enriching and creative environment for the young generations who grow up among different cultural influences.  MoD & Youth aims at working as the bridge between the traditional past and the contemporary present.

 

Our mission is to share the rich and beautiful musical heritage with a wider audience beyond the immediate social and ethnic boundaries.

- A Youth Ensemble Team of Young Musicians

is auditioning for the 2008 Performing Season

 

When:  December 9th; 2:00 ¨C 6:00 pm, 2007

 

Where: To be Announced (Monmouth County/Holmdel area)

 

Who Should Apply for the Audition: 

 

  • Any young musicians with 2 to 3 years of Chinese music performing experience
  • Prior Solo Performing experiences desirable
  • Able to Commit to attend all 10 Rehearsal Sessions to prepare for the Performing Events

I. Concert & Performing Program:  $300 per Concert Season

  • A total of 10 Rehearsal Sessions
  • 4 Specific Instruction Classes
  • 1 Formal Concert
  • Audio or Video recording contracts or events will be discussed with Team members and parents in full before commissioning

 

II. Individual or Group Instrument Lessons: 

  • Dizi (Chinese Flute)
  • Erhu (Chinese Fiddle)
  • Yang Qin: (Chinese Hammer Dalcimar)
  • Pipa:  (Chinese Lute)
  • Percussions
